PingWi-Fi Pulls Out New Stick For Play At Colonial Golf Tourney

Well … I am almost sad to say I have finished another ‘dirty jobs’ assignment, and have moved on to what can only be described as a sweet gig.

Today I am circling the course — including all of the highly populated watering holes — at Fort Worth’s Colonial Country Club, for the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial golf tournament.

My assignment is to describe the fun, via twitter.  This job is considerably better than a sharp stick in the eye.  If interested, following the action at Colonial by following me on Twitter — @CaddieChat.

But, you know I am sampling wireless too.  Yesterday I hopped on the Wi-Fi network in the media facilities, and to deviate from my norm … I am also testdriving T-Mobile webConnect.  The webConnect is a svelt little USB Laptop Stick.

Yesterday, it was my stick of choice for all 18 holes on Colonial.  Most importantly, it worked perfectly inside every hospitality suite.  Perhaps none better than the Kodak skybox overlooking the green on #13.

Who knows, if I pick up my golf game again, I may have to add this stick to the bag.

I mean … it ain’t Wi-Fi, but I found webConnect to be totally above par, on the course and near the margaritas at Colonial — 6 pings.

Know what I sayin?
