‘3G’ At Work In The Universe

Yes, there are strange things indeed at work in this universe. Take a moment to ponder the Gilmore Girls phenomena with me, if you will.

You see, today I received some typically crucial information from FaceBook. It seems that one of my friends updated her profile, alerting the world that she had once checked out the music from The Gilmore Girls. Pretty heady stuff – important too, apparently. Because the TuneSocial function sent me an e-mail to keep me abreast of this development.

That is weird in its own right, but it gets better.

I have satellite TV, which leads to channel surfing on steroids, so to speak. A couple of days ago I was squeezing off a few shots on the remote, when luck would have it that I stopped on The Gilmore Girls for the first time in my life, I promise. (Yes, too weird, I know.) Stay with me on this … Guess what the topic was.

One of the main characters – he will remain nameless so I won’t damage his acting reputation by mentioning I saw him in his GG gig (3G). But get this … he was walking around some mansion, laptop open, critiquing the stately manor’s Wi-Fi hotspot! Hey, now there’s some validation for one’s line of work. Imagine my glee. Everyone raise your glass to the Wi-Fi-seeking nerds of the world. Live long and prosper!

The best “joke”: nerd boy said he was going to Google the elderly woman in the scene, and she was appalled, yet secretly aroused.

Mallory, her FaceBook update and what now, in some circles, will forever be known as “The Wi-Fi Snooping Episode” of The G-Girls get 3 pings on our social networking-friendly scale.

Know what I sayin?
